Coach was born in the United States, specifically in New York, as a leather goods company.
Founded in 1941, originally known as Manhattan Leather Bags, it began in a loft where six artisans handcrafted a collection of leather goods: handbags and wallets for women and men, inspired by the tanned leather of baseball gloves. The most exclusive personalities in the Big Apple were delighted with their designs. Even the most discerning consumers began to seek out the quality and unique nature of Coach craftsmanship.
During the 70s the company grew with numerous points of sale and it is in the late nineties you can buy a Coach bag anywhere in the U.S. and Canada thanks to the opening of its online store.
With the arrival of the 21st century, the internationalization of the company began, which began to sell in the emerging Asian market and later in Europe.
A benchmark for celebrities
A benchmark brand for many celebrities, mainly American, in 2013 Coach took the determination to go a step further and hire Stuart Vevers, who was at the time designing for Loewe (another flagship leather work brand) to consolidate the ready-to-wear line.
