Fendi: a family-run fashion business
Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi who specialized in working with luxury-grade leather and fur, founded the workshop in Rome in 1935. In 1946 the five Fendi daughters (Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda) took over the family business, propelling the Fendi name into the international spotlight.
A renowned Creative Director
Since 1965 Karl Lagerfeld has been Creative Director for the house of Fendi’s fur and ready-to-wear collections. The brand continued to evolve with the launch of the Fendissime line in 1987, which was dedicated to furs and sportswear.
Fendi: luxury fashion designs that make history
Silvia, daughter of Anna Fendi, is the latest representative of the Fendi family who is currently working at the prestigious fashion house. Silvia created one of Fendi’s best sellers, the emblematic "Baguette" bag, which became the very first “It-bag” in history.
Fendi dresses the world’s most beautiful women and makes the headlines of international fashion magazines regularly. Fendi has over 210 boutiques around the world.
