Fendi : a fashion history
Fendi: a family-run fashion business
Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi who specialized in working with luxury-grade leather and fur, founded the workshop in Rome in 1935. In 1946 the five Fendi daughters (Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda) took over the family business, propelling the Fendi name into the international spotlight.
From Karl Lagerfeld to Kim Jones
From 1965 Karl Lagerfeld held the position of creative director of the leather and ready-to-wear collections of the fashion house Fendi until his death. The brand continues its evolution with the appointment of English designer Kim Jones, who will be responsible for the women’s line.
